Denver’s City Council has been trying apply the breaks on a plan to build a new terminal and underground train at DIA that will cost up to $1 billion. (Why don’t they just uncover those rumored buried runways?)
Last week, the airport’s head honcho, Aviation Manager Kim Day put her chief financial officer Stan Koniz on “investigatory leave” he questioned the costs of this terminal plan. And now, says the Denver Post, Day decided simply to blow off an official Council committee meeting yesterday where the subject was the project’s financials. If there were any question, now it’s clear: DIA is fully running on auto-pilot.
